Can't help but smile

Big Baby, originally uploaded by j_bstuart.

I’ve been going through photos of the past few years recently in hopes of finally getting them in an album (I’m caught up through 2006).

For some reason I started thinking about this one yesterday. There isn’t anything special )or even good) about it technically but it captures everything about Connor at 7 months. I can’t get over how big he was. And those thighs!

I hope it puts a smile on your face. Have a great weekend!

A Funny from Morgan

We’re getting ready to head out for a yummy mexican dinner tonight.  Jeff is talking to the kids about going and reminding them about expected behavior, etc.  He says, “So what do we need to do when we go out to eat?”

Little Miss’ response…”Put underwear on!”*

Yes, that is an important thing to remember.  I cracked up and Jeff actually said, “You have to blog that.”

*She was still in a pull-up from nap time.

Blah.

That’s the kind of day I’m having.

If I’m honest, I’m grumpy and really only want to be alone.  That, however, is unlikely to happen as I have three wee ones to care for and a husband who won’t be home until long after bedtime thanks to a work function.  All I can hope for is a lengthy nap by all.  We’re off to be outside, maybe the sun and fresh air will life my spirits.

Oh, and C broke the CD-ROM today.  Fabulous!

Finally, Connor.

Mr. Connor.

How do I put into words all that is our youngest child? I’m not feeling very poetic so it’s going to be bullet style today.

Connor is…

* Funny and sweet yet can hold his own with J and M.
* Into EVERYTHING. I know, it’s the age. However, as I’ve mentioned before I think I’ve forgotten (or never realized) what this age is like as in the past I was also caring for a newborn and recovering from a c-section.
* Has 50+ words but rarely uses more than please, more, yes and no. He simply has no need for the other 46. I know what he needs/wants most of the time and he his siblings talk so much that there’s rarely and opportunity or need for him to.
* Sometimes, when he’s really excited he’ll say and sign more please. When this happens he often makes the sign for more while saying please or vice versa. So cute.
* Thinks he’s at least 3 if not 4 going on 5. He wants to do everything Jack and Morgan do and he frequenlty tries whatever it is that they are doing.
* Weighs the same and is the same height as Morgan. Someone asked me if they were twins.
* Gives great hugs and (slobbery) kisses.
* Is finally starting to choose Jeff over me. Sometimes.

Shopping for a cause

I share the Nielsen’s story in the post about our family portraits.  Here’s a great way to help them out and get a little shopping done (Christmas is coming you know).

And if you haven’t checked Etsy out before, there’s no time like the present. I guarantee you’ll find something (or twenty) that you love.

Fall, it’s Awesome!

We've been talking a lot about the change of seasons lately. I don't think the kids have ever seen such an obvious (or beautiful) change from Summer to Fall.

The one thing they're really waiting for is when all of the leaves fall off of the tree in our front yard. I've told them that when that happens we'll rake them into a big pile and they can play to their heart's content. That hasn't happened yet but we're starting to get a few leaves on the yard.
Their excitement is so cool. Today while we were eating dinner there was a big gust of wind and leaves were falling off the tree like rain. Jack jumped out of his chair and ran to the window. "It's fall!" he screamed. "This is awesome!"
I couldn't agree more.
Happy Fall! Get out and enjoy it.
