I have been wanting to put up a clothesline for a long time. This weekend I finally bit the bullet. Yes, we move in two months but I figure better late than never. Besides, we’ll likely use a clothesline in Italy so I might as well get used to it.
So far, I love it. Though I did run into an issue last night as I left clothes on the line while we were at friends’ for dinner. One of our evening summer storms came through and brought rain with it. Oh, well. A second rinse never hurt.
Our dryer takes forever so I’ve been able to wash and line dry 4 loads in less time than it would have taken had I used our dryer inside. Less energy use and faster dry times is a win-win in my book.
One of my favorite things is that I can see both the clothes line and chickens from my (very dirty) kitchen window. It makes me smile every time.
I thought I’d pass on a few favorite clothesline links in case you’re thinking about taking the plunge.

I’m on a hiatus from homemade laundry soap but the recipe I do use is from Soule Mama here.
